Why everyone keeps coming back.

Café el Jarocho, nestled in the lively neighborhood of Santa Catarina, Coyoacán, is a beloved coffee shop that has carved out a special place in the hearts of Mexico City’s coffee enthusiasts. Located conveniently on Av. Miguel Ángel de Quevedo, this café offers a truly authentic and invigorating coffee experience that stands proudly alongside international chains but with a distinctly local soul.

What sets Café el Jarocho apart is its exceptional dedication to fresh, quality coffee. Coffee is not just a drink here; it’s an art form. Among the standout selections is the Café Cubano, a robust and rich espresso-style brew that delights with its boldness. If you prefer something a little mellower, the Café Mezcla De La Casa provides a harmonious blend that is both smooth and aromatic, capturing the essence of traditional Mexican coffee culture. For those looking to explore unique flavors, the Café Tipo Turco offers an exotic and deep profile that invites you to savor every sip. Plus, the option to buy your favorite coffee by the kilo means you can bring a piece of this experience home.

The café’s bakery is equally enticing, boasting an array of fresh pastries that perfectly complement their coffee. Imagine biting into a fluffy Panque de Elote (corn cake) that’s moist and subtly sweet, or indulging in the comforting spices of a warm Rollo de Canela (cinnamon roll). The Rosca de Zanahoria, dotted with cranberries and nuts, offers a satisfying balance of fruity and nutty textures, perfect for a relaxed morning or afternoon treat. If you have a sweet tooth, their Pie de Queso (cheesecake) and the signature Jarolleta cookie studded with chocolate and nuts are sure to become your favorites.

For those seeking a refreshingly creative twist, the frappés at Café el Jarocho are not to be missed. Options like Frappé Algodón de Azúcar (cotton candy flavor) and Frappé Arroz con Leche (rice pudding flavor) offer whimsical, nostalgic tastes wrapped in creamy, frosty delight. Each frappé, served in a convenient 295 ml size, makes for an indulgent treat whether you’re taking a break from exploring Coyoacán or catching up with friends.

The atmosphere at this spot adds to the overall charm. With customer seating spilling onto the sidewalk, visitors can enjoy a casual, vibrant ambiance that invites connection and relaxation amidst the buzz of Mexico City life. According to regulars, it’s a refreshing alternative to more congested parts of Coyoacán, making it a popular, easy-going stop with excellent service and quick made-to-order breakfast tortas that offer fantastic value.

Multiple customers rave about the coffee’s freshness and robust flavor, while the variety of breads and pastries have garnered praise for their authentic taste and quality. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or just looking for a cozy spot to unwind, Café el Jarocho delivers an experience that feels both genuine and satisfying. This is not just another chain; it is a proud representation of Mexico City’s rich coffee tradition, perfectly paired with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere.
